Homestays and Rental Houses: When Many Guests Shower at Once
A homestay full of guests can have four showers running at the same moment. Plan the booster pump for that peak, not for a quiet weekday.
A family home has a busy morning. A homestay has busy mornings, busy evenings after a day out, and a rush after every check-in. When a group of guests arrives and everyone wants a shower at once, a pump sized for a small household can struggle, and the bathroom furthest from the tank gets the worst of it.
Why guest houses have different peaks
Everyone arrives at the same time
Guests travel together, come back together and get ready together. Instead of water use spread through the day, a homestay sees sharp peaks: late afternoon after the beach or a hike, and early morning before checkout. Those peaks are what the pump has to handle.
More bathrooms than a typical home
Many homestays are converted terraces, bungalows or kampung houses with extra bathrooms added over time. Each new bathroom adds another outlet to the same supply, often through longer or improvised pipe runs. The added bathroom upstairs is frequently the one guests complain about.
Signs your homestay needs a booster pump

Sizing for the full house, not the quiet day
Count the showers at peak
When you message us, tell us the most showers you expect to run at the same time when the house is fully booked. Add the kitchen and the washing machine if they are likely to run then too. This number guides the HP rating far more than the size of the house.
Look at the tank and the pump spot
A booster pump draws from the tank, so a small tank may run low during a long peak even if the pump itself is well sized. Photograph the tank, the pump spot and the pipes. If the setup looks like it needs pipe modification or extra wiring, those are quoted separately once we see the photos.
Choosing between the two brands
Tsunami packages are stated for landed and terrace homes with everyday household demand, which covers many smaller homestays. Grundfos is the premium brand option. Planning around bookings
Pick a quiet window for installation
Installation means turning the water off for a while. Tell us which days the house is empty between bookings so we can plan around them. A test run and pressure check happen before the job is closed, so the next guests arrive to working showers.
Larger guest houses and lodges
If the property is closer to a small lodge or a commercial guest house with many rooms, it is priced by setup as a commercial installation. Send the room count, the number of floors and photos of the plant area, and we will look at it case by case.
Already have a pump you want to use?
Some owners buy their own pump. Installation only is RM800 per installation, covering installing the pump, basic wiring, a test run and commissioning. Taking out an existing pump is quoted separately.
